Our Story

Why Cottage Curations, why journaling and self-care?

First, let me say THANK YOU for visiting Cottage Curations. I am so thankful and grateful for your time and support, and I invite you to join me in the journaling and self-care journey. My hope is to inspire and invest in you through my products and encouragement as I continue to walk through my journey. Remember to shop for yourself, then your family and friends.

Over the last 4 years I have been on a journey to take better care of myself. After nearly losing my life to the initial arrival of COVID and finding out that I had permanent heart damage from the COVID, I decided once more to dive deep and do all I could to get my health back in order. Over the last 3+ years I have lost 100 pounds through making lifestyle changes and discovering the art of journaling in my life. I track and hold myself accountable through my journaling, it has given me a FUN and creative way to hold myself accountable to achieve and maintain a healthy balance in my life.

It is funny to think about, but I started my daughter’s journey in journaling when she finished her Kindergarten year in school. I created, printed, and bound a “Summer Activities FUN Journal” for her. Yes, at just 7 years old she began her journaling journey and is still journaling today at the age of 31!!  I found that this Summer Activities FUN Journal was a way to continue to feed her creativity, but also a way to continue to keep before her the standards of learning that she had completed in her school year Giving her a means of practicing her writing skills, her math skills, her art skills, her language arts skills, and so much more. Having a place to write or draw our thoughts, experiences, dreams, hopes, plans, is a perfect way to maintain a healthy balance in life.

So, the answer to your question, why Cottage Curations…My heart is to encourage those that are not yet journaling to discover the Art of Journaling, and the many benefits it offers to us as individuals. I also want to encourage those who are already journaling to branch out and try something new, a new design, a new theme, or a new approach.

I have also learned the need for real self-care. Self-care has many different approaches and appearances. I have developed self-care bundles that are simple yet pampering. I want to encourage all to explore self-care and how that looks in their individual life.

I came across this saying recently and it hit my target:

"Love. Fall in love and stay in love. Write only what you love, and love what you write. The key word is LOVE. You have to get up in the morning and write something you love, something to live for."    Ray Bradbury

It is true, we must LOVE ourselves first, and in loving ourselves we must take care of ourselves. So, join me in my journey as you begin or continue your journey. Invest in you, find something that inspires you, and then find someone to encourage and bring along on your journey. Once this happens then we are set to love others.

                                                                Blessings,

                                                               Chandra
